Cory Photography with Tom and Pat Cory

Eastern Sierra, CA

Mammoth Lakes, CA

Saturday noon, October 10, through breakfast on Friday, October 16, 2009

Tentative dates

Join us in these magnificent mountains in Eastern California, the area where Ansel Adams made many of his most memorable images. From our base in Mammoth Lakes, we’ll take day trips to photograph the ancient bristlecone pine forests (the oldest living things on earth), the strange tufa towers of Mono Lake, the ghost town of Bodie, alpine lakes, and the majestic Sierra mountains. Mid-October typically finds the aspens turning, the weather crisp. Much of this magnificent, and surprisingly uncrowded landscape, is over 9,000 feet in elevation. This is our most strenuous workshop due to the altitude and the fact that some hiking or walking is required to fully be able to appreciate this area. In addition we sometimes offer the option of several hikes to less often photographed areas of exceptional natural beauty.
